and ten days after the United States (East Coast), I explain some of my impressions (based on experiences in NYC and Philadelphia):
The first of all is the size of everything: extreme greatness (in cars , ice cream, hamburgers, people, clothes ... EVERYTHING) and extreme tiny (in cars, ice cream, hamburgers, people, clothes ... ALL), we, the middle term is conspicuously absent ...
The second of all is the ability to constantly change depending on the needs of the citizen-consumer ... for example, broke the shower faucet rented apartment ... I sent a mail to the tenant at 21 hours and 21.40 and had a technician (Mexican) sent by the tenant willing to fix the tap ... I can tell similar example of the fall of a front mid-afternoon for two-three hours after being clean street and a scaffold mounted protective ...
The third is in relation to the plundering of art: while the MoMA or the Metropolitan are full of European works (innumerable paintings by Picasso, Miro, Velazquez, Goya ...) Today I was surprised at the Philadelphia Art Museum (known in the world to be the stairs that Rocky goes into his workouts ;-)), seeing that many of the doors inside the museum are native Andalusian convents (Ecija, While Osuna ...).... you know which to admire the Parthenon in the British Museum, or the Venus of Milo in the Louvre to admire colonial depredations, one can not imagine how painful it can be seen as heritage culture has gone through the power of money ... Well, while you enjoy seeing a Zurbaran hung on a wall in Philadelphia, comes to hurt so many works are so far from where they were conceived ... This I mean, that the undersigned has felt largely won and highly protectionist as regards cultural level ....
Otherwise, this country and its people (from all over the world, of all colors) continues to amaze even one second ... I like know and while there are still ten days of travel, I have security and be back to visit! ;-)
